Couple things to keep in mind when doing an engagement session outdoors. Time of day matters, when the sun is high in the sky its to harsh for photography and people tend to squint when they are towards the sun. Its best to do the session 1 or 2 hours before sunset. Bring a blanket to sit on or anything special you would like to include in the session (including your dog) :) Option of bringing champagne and glasses, smoke bombs are really fun also. I love when women wear long dresses and it blows in the wind (see picture below) it makes for some pretty pictures. There are plenty of state parks to do the session with lakes and bridges. Also if you live close to a big city you can do some really cool pics downtown. The pictures below are taken in Detroit Michigan. I would always choose outdoors over indoors :)
